Canibus 2000 BC Review

NZA said: "Track 1: C-Quel Love this track one of my favorites on the entire cd. He starts off spitting two things at one time and both of them are hot. It is really amazing, but hard to follow unless you are really listening. After that he goes to regular rapping and it has sick flow and some of the funniest metaphors ever. "Getting in my way is like jumping in front of a car Breaking the sound barrier that means the car's in front of the horn By the time you hear it blowin', it's too late to respond By the time you feel it hit chu, I'm gone I'll send ya' to hell where you belong So by the time ya' body hits the floor Ya' spirit won't be in it no more" The beat is solid and is consistent throughout the track. This is the best intro to any album ever. Score- 9.75 Track 2: 2000 B.C The beat is pretty good and this song starts out really fast paced. The flow throughout is amazing, but the metas are pretty weak on this track. Basically just for the flow this is a really good track. Also I like how he points out that Wyclef Jean ruined his first album "Can-I-Bus" Score- 9 Track 3: Life Liquid ft Journalist The beat for this track is actually kind of annoying. But the flow for the track like always pretty good. Overall this track is pretty weak, Canibus can spit about better stuff than busting guns and shooting people. Nonetheless it is good enough to listen to rather than just hitting the skip button. Score- 7.75 Track 4: Shock Therapy (Skit) Usually skits don't ever get higher than a 5 from me, but this one is funny as hell. It's about some cats sampling beats and getting interogated. Every time he answers a questions he gets shocked with a taser. Really funny shit especially near the end. Score- 7.5 Track 5: Watch who you beef wit This is a decent track, but I still don't like how he picks the topic of being a gangsta to spit about. This track flows aight, but nothing like the first two tracks which are flawless. The beat is actually pretty tight and the chorus is one of the better ones on the cd. Score- 8 Track 6: I'll buss 'em you punish 'em ft Rakim Wow this track is lyrical perfection. There really is nothing better than this track. Both Canibus and Rakim spit flawlessly I absolutely love this track. Canibus starts it off with a really good verse then it goes to the chorus. After that it goes to Rakim's verse which is IMO Rakim's best ever. Which is saying alot since he has been in the game since 1987. After that they go back and forth spitting bars at the end which are both really hot. The beat is tight and so are the lyrics here is Rakim's verse: "Be ready and at your best, the +Celebrity+ +Match+ of +Death+ Heart snatched through your chest, cardiac arrest Crack your neck while I break your arms, catch your breath Then I asked the ref, "How many cats is left?" One on one, who challengin? Come get did All I have is a pen and punish you kids Abdomen punctured and look what I done to his wig Wanna live then I stab 'em in the lung with his rib Every word I say detach a vertebrae from your spine Rematch wherever we meet at, any place anytime Get your snot-box smashed with a nine, smacked with a rhyme Push your forehead to the back of your mind Try to explain, what it's like seein your brain Your insane, whose gonna ID the remains? And then I reincarnate 'em, and kill 'em again Again and again, again and again, c'mon" Score- 10 Track 7: Mic-Nificent I like the beat it reminds me of that 90's West Coast shit almost. He starts off talking about tires and rims which really sucks. He is much better when he isn't gassing. The flow is tight, but like I said too much gassing on this track. Score- 7.75 Track 8: Die Slow ft Journalist The beat is alright, but the chorus is pretty annoying. No lines really stick out above the rest. At least this wasn't just a pure gas track. The flow as always is really good. The is still not one of his better tracks. Score- 8 Track 9: Doomsday News The beat is some weird alien shit. Then it switches to some kind of guitar beat with bass it's kind of weird. I like the this track, it's kind of random but the metaphors are pretty slick. "The rap terrorist, Professor Emeritus Fuck forbidden fruit I was eating pussy in Genesis" Score- 8.5 Track 10: Lost @ C The beat is really good, and this starts off fast paced which I really like from Canibus. The flow is smooth as a baby's ass. The chorus is really good too, overall this is definently a good track. Here is my favorite quotable: "Now when you see that big ass 'C', you know I'm comin through And when you know I'm comin through, you know what I'ma do I never said that battlin me, would be impossible I just think it's highly motherfuckin improbable You talkin to a nigga that can split molecules to subatomic particles, strong enough to stop a bull" Score: 9.25 Track 11: Phuk U The beat starts off annoying as hel and with all the fuck yous it is really annoying. The flow is alright, but I do love the metaphors he drops here. Overall this track is pretty nice, but nothing that you can't live without. Score- 7.5 Track 12: Horsemen This is basically and introduction to the track after this one. It has no beat, but it is actually better like that. The flow is really, really good. Even for a gas track it is really hot. The vocab here is crazy with all the long words. This track id really hot for not having a beat. Score- 9.25 Track 13: Horsementality ft Ras Kass, Killah Priest & Kurupt The beat on this track is pretty simple, but hot nonetheless. These are some of my favorite Emcee's and they all spit hot on this track. They collab really well together, they flow perfectly from one Emcee to another. The chorus is also simple, but catchy are clever. This track is almost 6 minutes long and has no downtime. It is all hot spitting. Score- 9.5 Track 14: 100 Bars Right away the beat is tight as a virgin asshole. blink.gif But seriously the beat is really good. The vocab on this song is just as good as on "Horsemen". This flows like Niagara Falls, and the title says it all he spits like 100 bars I'm not sure if it is exactly that long or not. This track is 5:59 with no chorus and he has very few breaks to breath. He just spits nonstop and most of the bars are really hot. Score- 9.75 Track 15: Chaos This track starts off with no beat, but it kicks in after about 45 seconds. This is a short track compared to the last two before it, but nonetheless it is really hot. He has so many multis in this song it is just crazy. This is the perfect outro to a really good album. Score- 9.5 Overall this is a really tight album and is the perfect palce for mainstream fans who want to get into underground to start. I found this album for $8.99, what a deal that was. If you don't have it already make sure you get it. This album is really hot even for being 4 years old. Total Score- 9.5 I DID NOT WRITE THIS REVIEW, BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS GOOD SO POSTED IT ON HERE...:)"
